Tupendane means “let us love one another.” The foundation turns that value into women empowerment, safe daycare, family support, sponsorship, and community care in Arusha.
Volunteers are invited into that mission when their time and skills can strengthen the work already led by local caregivers. The program offers personal fulfillment, skills development, professional growth, cultural exchange, and community development.

Welcomes children into daily care, meals, early learning, routines, and safe supervision.

Sponsorship
Support child profiles, fundraising, home visits, reporting, communications, and social media management.

Support business training, empowerment workshops, outreach, mental health, sponsorship, English teaching, health, nutrition, life skills, entrepreneurship, and food processing.
Childcare
Teach children, play different games, and support sponsorship work connected to Rose Flower Daycare.

These details are for volunteers joining the women's empowerment program and other foundation placements coordinated by Tupendane.
Who can apply
- Volunteers aged 18+
- Intermediate English required
- Valid travel or volunteer insurance
- A clean background check
- Experience in training, teaching, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, or social work is welcome but not required.
Women's empowerment
Support women and young mothers through:
- Basic literacy and English lessons
- Entrepreneurship and business skills
- Confidence-building mentorship
- Health promotion and empowerment
- Skills such as sewing, beadwork, and crafts

Ciao! I'm Priscilla, I'm 22 years old from Italy and I'm one of the volunteers of Tupendane Africa Foundation. I've always wanted to be part of a volunteer project in Africa, but I was unsure on what to expect and insecure about my capabilities. However, from the first day I set foot in Tupendane my heart was filled with joy and reassurance from the warm welcoming of the directors, to the powerful women and all the lovely kids.
